Our trained care workers are able to stay with you or a loved one overnight. It may be that the client's regular family carer is not available, or needs a break and a good night's sleep.
It could also be that someone needs assistance with toileting during the evening, or are prone to wandering due to the effects of dementia or another illness. Overnight care may also be palliative.
Active overnight care is provided where it is assumed that our care worker will be required to stay awake for the majority, or all of the night.
Passive overnight care is required, it is assumed that our worker will be able to sleep for the majority of the evening. If this is the case, a bed should be provided for the care worker attending. Passive overnight care is generally available from 10pm to 7am, and is charged at a significantly reduced hourly rate.
